Proficiency techniques are techniques that give you proficiency in some area of life. They offer a way to develop certain abilities normally granted by classes, without having to multiclass to get them.

Proficiency Technique Descriptions

Armor Proficiency (Light)

Effect: You become proficient in using light armor, and are no longer penalised for using it.
Normal: You take a penalty to movement speed, dexterity-based rolls, and attack rolls while wearing armor you are not proficient in.

Armor Proficiency (Medium)

Prerequisites: Armor Proficiency (Light)
Effect: You become proficient in using medium armor, and are no longer penalised for using it.
Normal: You take a penalty to movement speed, dexterity-based rolls, and attack rolls while wearing armor you are not proficient in.

Armor Proficiency (Heavy)

Prerequisites: Armor Proficiency (Medium)
Effect: You become proficient in using heavy armor, and are no longer penalised for using it.
Normal: You take a penalty to movement speed, dexterity-based rolls, and attack rolls while wearing armor you are not proficient in.

Shield Proficiency (Light)

Effect: You become proficient in using light shields, and are no longer penalised for using them.
Normal: You take a penalty to dexterity-based rolls and attack rolls while using a shield you are not proficient with.

Shield Proficiency (Medium)

Prerequisites: Shield Proficiency (Light)
Effect: You become proficient in using Medium shields, and are no longer penalised for using them.
Normal: You take a penalty to dexterity-based rolls and attack rolls while using a shield you are not proficient with.

Shield Proficiency (Heavy)

Prerequisites: Shield Proficiency (Medium)
Effect: You become proficient in using heavy shields, and are no longer penalised for using them.
Normal: You take a penalty to dexterity-based rolls and attack rolls while using a shield you are not proficient with.

Simple Weapon Proficiency

Effect: Choose a weapon category. You become proficient in simple weapons of that category.
Normal: You take a penalty to attack rolls when attacking with a weapon you are not proficient with.

Martial Weapon Proficiency

Prerequisites: Simple Weapon Proficiency
Effect: Choose a weapon category in which you have Simple Weapon Proficiency. You become proficient in martial weapons of that category.
Normal: You take a penalty to attack rolls when attacking with a weapon you are not proficient with.

Exotic Weapon Proficiency

Prerequisites: Martial Weapon Proficiency
Effect: Choose a weapon category in which you have Martial Weapon Proficiency. You become proficient in exotic weapons of that category.
Normal: You take a penalty to attack rolls when attacking with a weapon you are not proficient with.

Skill Proficiency

Effect: Choose a skill. You become proficient in that skill, and gain its Proficiency Bonus
Special: You can choose this technique more than once, but only once per skill.
